Bow locker
Overview
This was originally designed to house all rope and chain for
the main anchor of the vessel, however, due to re-fitting the windlass when
I bought the boat, and since it is best to keep weight close to the centre of
the hull, I had a new chain locker built further back, under the v-berth in
the forward cabin. The original bow locker is mainly used for storage now, usually
of a very long warp, in case we need to set a kedge anchor a couple of miles
from our position. Entry to this locker is through a door in the forward bulkhead
of the forepeak.
